In the chemical industry, sulfuric acid (98% acid) is a commonly used chemical raw material. Many of our customers often need to use acid pumps. So, what kind of pump is suitable for transporting sulfuric acid?
Sulfuric acid, commonly known as bad water, with the chemical formula of H₂SO₄, is a strong mineral acid with high corrosivity. Refers to the sulfuric acid solution with the mass fraction of more than or equal to 70%. Sulfuric acid is also highly corrosive: at normal pressure, boiling sulfuric acid can corrode all metals except iridium and ruthenium (even including gold and platinum), and the number of metal elements that it can corrode even exceeds that of aqua regia. Sulfuric acid has strong oxidizing property at high concentration, which is one of the differences between it and dilute sulfuric acid. At the same time, it has dehydration, low volatility, acidity, water absorption and so on.
According to the characteristics of sulfuric acid, the acid pump needs corrosion resistance, so PVDF can be selected as the pump body. According to the actual situation of the installation site, choose horizontal pump or vertical pump.
