Intel Announces $5.4 Billion Acquisition of Tower Semiconductor

It is reported that Intel Corporation and Tower Semiconductor, the foundry of analog semiconductor solutions, announced a final agreement. According to the agreement, Intel will acquire Tower Semiconductor in cash of $53 per share, with a total enterprise value of about $5.4 billion.
Tower Semiconductor is a professional semiconductor wafer foundry, headquartered in Migdal Emek, Israel. Focus on mature manufacturing technology and professional semiconductor foundry business, and have professional technologies such as radio frequency (RF), power supply, silicon germanium (SiGe) and industrial sensors. In the third quarter of last year, Goto Semiconductor ranked first in the global foundry 9, with a market share of 1.4%.
According to Intel, this acquisition will advance its IDM2.0(IDM, an integrated equipment manufacturer, a company integrating design, manufacturing, packaging and testing) strategy, expand its chip manufacturing capability, global layout and technology portfolio to meet the needs of the industry, and be able to provide value to OEM customers with a market size of nearly $100 billion.
