Chemical pump protection device

This product is a smart chemical pump controller. It adopts digital processing technology and high-brightness LED display. Through the built-in current transformer, it can detect the three-phase load current of the chemical pump, and display the three-phase current and judge whether there are overload, dry running, or phase loss faults. When the chemical pump fails, the relay will disconnect, cutting off the power supply of the chemical pump, and the fault code will be displayed and the buzzer will sound.

Current measurement

The protector uses an internal current transformer to measure the three-phase load current. When the load current is too small, it does not perform liquid or phase loss detection to prevent false tripping in the pump power-off state.

Dry running protection

When the load current is lower than the set overload current value (F14 setting parameter) for 3 seconds, the relay opens, cutting off the power to the pump. The device display will show “14H”.

Overload protection

When the load current exceeds the set overload current value (F11 setting parameter) and persists for 3 seconds, the relay opens, cutting off the power to the pump. The device display will show “11H”.

Phase loss protection

Phase loss can be considered a severe case of three-phase imbalance. When the three-phase imbalance ratio is greater than 50%, it is considered phase loss. The default phase loss action time is 3 seconds, and the device display will show “PHA”.

Horizontal pump protection

How to install:

connecting the pump motor output wires to terminals Y1, Y2, and Y3 first. Additionally, the grounding wire should be connected to the designated ground terminal. Next, the power input wires are connected to terminals a, b, and c, followed by connecting the grounding wire to the designated terminal.

The operator first long presses the menu button for a few seconds to enter the setting interface. The first item displayed is F11, which is the overload protection data setting.

To set the overload protection current data, we can refer to the rated current data on the motor nameplate multiplied by 1.1. For example, if the rated current of the pump motor is 1.77, we can multiply 1.77 by 1.1 to get 1.94. Then, we press the setting button in the upper left corner to enter the data adjustment interface. Then, we can use the buttons on the right to adjust the data. After adjusting to the required data, press the setting button to confirm. Now, the setting of the overload protection current data is completed.

Then, the operator can press the button on the right to switch to the F14 no-load protection data setting interface. When the pump is idling, its current value is lower than the minimum current value when the outlet is closed, so we can refer to the minimum current value after the pump outlet is closed to set the no-load current data. In this way, when the pump is idling, the device can monitor an abnormally low current and then cut off power automatically.

Now, the operator closes the outlet pipe of the pump. You can see that the current value is 1.58. Now, the operator returns to the F14 setting screen and presses the setting button to enter the data adjustment screen, setting the no-load protection current data to 1.58. Then, the operator presses the setting button to confirm. This completes the setting of the no-load protection current data.

To enter parameter setting mode, press and hold the menu button for 5 seconds while the current is displayed. The display will then show “Fxx”, where xx is a two-digit number representing the parameter code. Use the ▲ or ▼ keys to select the parameter code. Press the set button to display the value associated with the selected parameter code. Use the ▲ or ▼ keys to change the value. After making your changes, press the set button again to return to the parameter code display mode. Pressing the menu button during parameter setting will cancel the operation without saving the changes.

Troubleshooting methods

How to Determine If an Intelligent Triple Protection Electronic Protection Device Is Working Properly ?

1. If the Intelligent Triple Protection Electronic Protection Device displays a current value on the screen and the motor starts to run after startup, it indicates that the device is working properly.

2. If the motor does not rotate after the main power is turned on, first check if the power of the main power is connected to the switch of the intelligent three-phase protection device. If there is power, it indicates that there is a problem with the main board of the three-phase intelligent electronic protection device. Dry Running

Case 1: When the screen displays “Dry Running”, first check if the liquid in the tank has been pumped out, and then check if the pipes in and out are blocked. After eliminating these two conditions, press the menu button to restart the pump.

Case 2: If the customer’s site has a liquid level controller, and the screen displays “Dry Running”, the first thing to consider is whether there is a conflict between the liquid level controller and the three-phase dry running alarm. Improper setting of the liquid level controller can cause the pump to dry run alarm, preventing it from automatically outputting the program. At this time, you need to reset the standard of the liquid level controller, then press the menu button to restart the pump, and then observe again.

Case 3: If, during use, the current used normally is close to or lower than the factory-set dry running current due to pipes or other reasons, an alarm will occur. At this time, confirm that the pump outlet is closed, and then adjust the dry running current down to the lowest of the three-phase currents used normally. The dry running current needs to be adjusted according to the actual pump power, as shown in the table:

Overload

Case 1: When the screen displays “11H”, if the operating current does not exceed 10% of the rated current, check if the motor is rotating clockwise. If the motor is rotating counterclockwise, the wiring method needs to be adjusted.

Case 2: When the screen displays “11H” and the operating current exceeds 10% of the rated current, first consider whether there is a foreign object in the pump head. If so, disassemble the pump head to remove the foreign object and restart the pump.

Case 3: If the screen displays “11H” and the first two cases have been ruled out, then the specific gravity of the liquid may be too high. In this case, the impeller needs to be reduced in size by a certain proportion to reduce the operating current value. Phase loss

When the screen displays “PHA”, a qualified electrician is required to operate, check the circuit, and restart after troubleshooting and confirmation.

1. The relevant performance parameters have been adjusted before the product is shipped. Please do not modify the parameters when using it, otherwise the protection function may malfunction. If you need to change the parameters, please contact the manufacturer QEEHUA PUMP.

2. Make sure the pump head is filled with liquid before starting the pump.

3. Do not use a frequency converter to start the pump, otherwise the Intelligent Triple Protection Electronic Protection Device will not work properly.
